Churchill Downs Race + Sports Book

The legalization of sports betting within the state of Kentucky allowed Churchill Downs to embark on a project to enhance their existing live racing room and convert it into a state-of-the-art Race and Sports Book. As their long-time integration partner, Alpha was there to help deliver an experience befitting the most celebrated horseracing track in the world.

Alpha installed a Primeview 27ft-wide 1.9mm, 4K LED video wall that allowed for up to eight inputs to be shown at time. They also worked with VITEC to connect an EZTV IPTV backend with 45 endpoints for video audio that helped display the 28 additional displays within the space. These displays were also set up with a DirecTV Com3000 system with 138 HD channels, allowing Churchill Downs’ guests to never miss a second of action.

The Churchill Downs Race & Sports Book informs and entertains patrons with immersive power and excitement while enabling staff to control the technology comprehensively and easily. The QSC control system installed by Alpha allows for easy preset room controls, along with a one-button, whole-room power down. In addition to simplifying operation, Alpha’s solution allowed the venue to earn LEED certification, advancing Churchill Downs’ eco-friendly initiative.
